Today I learned how to write an entire page in css/xhtml! And then I did that + the images. It was for school so I really was Forced To Make Something. The subject was happiness, hence the title & all.

Karin makes a sleeping bag case

I made this the other day because I gave my sleeping bag case away to a guy in Copenhagen since he needed it more than I did. Also I like this new one a lot better since it's easier to carry it around with a larger handle. And it's prettier. Sadly my sleeping bag itself is really ugly so now I'm thinking I will need to decorate it somehow to match the case. The fabric is as always thrifted...

Ps! Our friend Pierre will guest blog for us a little bit this week! He has a lot of creative projects going on. And Åsa has finally graduated from bagery school and will be a little less busy perhaps. I have a week of intense studying ahead and then I will have summer off and start sewing clothes for my site again!

Frej and I sewed and embroided a banner (all from vintage fabric & thread) and went to Copenhagen to demonstrate against the meeting at Bella Center.

Karin (and Ulrika) changing fabric on furniture

Today my flatmate Ulrika and I changed fabric on a sofa we found in the trash outside our apartment.

We didn't have any instructions or experience so I think we did really good!

I got all worked up with the easiness of changing fabrics and changed an old pretty gross brown fabric on the chair to this one from Johanna & Mattias, took five minutes!

Karin mending dresses

I got these two broken dresses from Johanna & Mattias and decided to mend them yesterday on our sewing circle night. The pink 20s one was cut up by the shoulders and had to be taken up quite a bit since it was pretty stained by the hem. The pale turquoise one had a cut off sleeve so I cut the other one of too and made it sleeveless instead. Should have ironed it before I took pictures though…

Karin is really busy and has no time for anything creative whatsoever...

But I did make this fabric bag for grocery shopping and book carrying, from a fabric my talented flatmate Ulrika has designed.

Through Christian Engström I just found out that there's a proposition going on in Italy to shut down all blogs and other websites containing "inappropriate" information, without court orders or anything. Åsa visits No diso

This is what it looked like when I visited Karin's home No disco last week. We ate scones, drank tea and helped Karin's room mate Julia with practising on her manuscript.

Karin - dress made at the craft circle yesterday

I made a long vintage gown that Mattias gave me in to a short coctail dress with a detatchable over skirt that you can wear separately. I took the bust decoration away and used it for the wide waist of the over skirt, cut the gown in half and used the bottom part for the over skirt, then I just hemmed the remaining dress part. It's really easy to do. (I know the hem needs to be ironed but I can't do that today so I just took a picture anyway)

I'm sorry (all my entries lately begin with me being sorry) I'm not creative at all these days! Or I am, but I'm doing applications for a school and I don't want to show it in case it sucks. Also I'm busy with accounting which is not really what makes a person feel like creating beautiful things. So I thought I should post some inspirational things instead!

Karin mending glasses

Hey! Sorry I'm bad with updating, it's hard when my enforcer is in Malmö and I myself am very busy with other things also. I've started my classes, am doing stuff with my website and have also started the project of documenting everything I own and justifying why I need it. Which takes a lot of time and thinking too.

Anyway, my glasses that I've had since I was 14-ish broke a while ago and I'm way too poor to go to and fix them. The glass fell out and a small screw went missing. So I just sewed them back together again with black thread by hand and now they are good as new (though I still don't like them much).
